![]() ![]() While looking through locked door, a staff member unlocked the door and asked what we needed. We didn’t think much of it as it snowed a lot the previous night, we thought the staff were running late. The office opens at 8:00 AM but no one was at the front desk. We had to extend our stay by extra two nights because we were snowed in. We didn’t have any issue with the room but with the staff. The room was very nicely decorated and cozy. (Oh and the water was ”HOT” - something I require in a shower!īooked the stay at the Station House Inn for the Christmas week. But the price was good, the pool was nice, the food was hot, the beds were comfortable and the WiFi and TVs worked well. Some fresh paint and redecorating the hallways would go a long way to make it a bit more enjoyable. 2.) Another item we noticed is that although the housekeeping was very good, the maintenance wasn't quite as good. A couple of things that might count against them was 1.) the lack of AC outlets in places you might expect them, but that is a condition found in most older buidings. In addition, their hot breakfast is really nice with a lot of variety. It is literally withing 4-5 minutes walking distance. That's where the main gondola for skiing is based and includes all kinds of neat shops and great dining options and entertainment. The resort itself is just behind ”Heavenly Village” which, to my knowledge, is kind of the center of Tahoe. There was no cost for the upgrade! What a pleasant surprise. They then immediately set out to get us an upgrade into our own suite, right next door to his. We had wanted to have a room near my sons family, howevevr when we requested this, they informed us that my son had booked a suite and that was in a different building then our typical hotel room. the room was spotlessly clean with lots of little extras. The rooms (especially the suites) are spacious and laid out nicely. It is rustic and shows its years, however, it was also a delightful stay. The Forest Suites Resort is an older resort in Tahoe. (Chris, and I, were surprised since the hotel is dog-friendly and the dog would've been fine inside) All the staff in addition to those mentioned were the most helpful, accommodating, customer-centric people! Chris at desk went thru every check-in slip to find he described vehicle, and called that person to come take care of their dogs. person, and they tried a couple more things, eventually pulling back cabinet where TV connections to building were, and manager found and fixed a faulty connector! Then when checking out, etc, came upon some dogs locked up in a black SUV with no windows cracked and 72 and partially sunny out. Then 10 minutes later, manager returned with another maint. I declined, since I could still watch Netflix and YouTube. Manager offered to move me to a new room then. The next morning the manager sent maintenance, they couldn't fix it, so manager accompanied maint. Then when the TV wouldn't work, the night staff sent someone who thought they might be able to fix it, up, but they couldn't. (some guests were not careful in the public areas, but staff quickly cleaned up spills/garbage) Price in reasonable given the days I stayed (weekends always more costly, as are days when there are special events in town) - I checked with the ****** I usually stay at and their pricing was more! I erred in not putting both says of my most recent stay on one reservation, but called and Chris at the desk made sure to merge both so I didn't have to move from one room to another mid-stay. Nice amenities, well-decorated, and clean facility. Have now stayed there two different occasions - both time was the 1st guest in the rooms I was in. ![]()
